Fritz3 (Bonded with Louie4) In North Carolina

Overview

Meet Fritz, an adorable 7-year-old, 30-pound Red Dachshund. Fritz came to Little Paws as an owner surrender after his previous owner could no longer spend enough time with him due to their schedule. He is incredibly lovable, playful, and snuggly, and he absolutely loves playing fetch with plush toys.

Environment

Fritz has a high energy level, enjoys walks and playing every day, and luckily he is great on a leash. He requires a home with a secure, fenced yard so he can get enough activity. He has a very high prey drive and will bolt if he sees a cat or small animal. He is very content when left to his own devices and considers his crate to be his happy place. Since he is generally not too noisy, he is suitable for living arrangements with shared walls like apartments or townhomes.

Pets & People

Fritz is very bonded to his brother Louie. He is very lovable and friendly, doing well with his foster family and during transport, though he hasn't been tested with strangers yet. He’s a foodie and enjoys treats. He eats at a normal pace and takes treats gently, but often taps on his bowl with the puppy eyes to ask for more. He thinks he is a lap dog and loves to be held, sometimes he’ll give you a grumble to get your attention for cuddles, treats, or couch time.

Health

& Special Needs

Fritz is a healthy boy with no major medical needs noted, though he did mark in the house for the first few hours of transition before settling in nicely and hasn't done it since. He does wonderfully in the car, happily sitting in his seat and looking out the window. He is also a known squirrel chaser and a bit of a snorer!
